Hello, Roots: I was in Schaeffer’s, a spirits store in Wilmette, IL, this very day, and came upon your “Klee” (vintage 2008). What a shock! He’s my favorite artist, I have met his grandson Alexander (the last living Klee), and I am writing a book on Klee as an influence on composers. So, of course, I bought a bottle (though I haven’t sampled it yet). A couple of questions: Where did you get your appreciation of Klee? I’d also like to know the inspiration for your label. The bottle says check “www.bauhaus.com” to find the painting that inspired it. But that site has a million ways to get into it, and in no way presents an obvious track to finding the Klee painting you used. Thus, can you tell me the title of the Klee painting?
